SERVICE INFORMATION

Privacy Policy

What stays on your device, what reaches our hosting provider, and which choices you control.

Last updated ·

Scope of this policy

This policy covers the free ShopCutout website and its background-removal workspace. It describes the version available on the date shown above. The current free tool has no account registration, checkout, advertising tracker or cloud image-storage feature. If those features are introduced, this policy will be updated to describe the changed processing before they are used.

Photos, filenames and edited outputs

Selecting a photo gives the web application access to that file within your browser. Image decoding, foreground detection, background composition and export happen on your device. The free tool does not send selected photo contents, filenames, masks or exported images to our servers or to a remote inference API. We do not receive these images for training, resale or cloud storage.

The workspace holds images and results in browser memory while the page is open. Reloading, closing the page or using Clear all removes them from the active workspace. A file you download remains wherever your browser saves it. Browser or operating-system mechanisms outside our control can also retain local data; we do not promise secure erasure from a device.

Model downloads and browser storage

The application downloads a public AI model, runtime code, fonts and other site assets from our hosting infrastructure. Your browser may cache these files to avoid downloading them again. Those cached public files are separate from your selected photographs.

The current free tool identifies your selected language from the page URL. If an older version left a PARAGLIDE_LOCALE language cookie, you can remove it in your browser settings. You can also clear cached site assets, which may require another model download.

Optional Google Analytics 4

The website supports optional Google Analytics 4 when a valid measurement ID is configured. The Google script is loaded only after you choose Allow analytics. Without that choice, the integration does not load the script or send our custom analytics events, and the editing tool remains available.

After you agree, Analytics can measure page views and actions such as selecting photos, starting or completing processing, choosing a preset and requesting a download. Our custom events include counts, preset names, output format and the site's language; they do not include photo contents, filenames or raw processing errors. Our page-view configuration strips query strings and fragments and limits the referrer to its origin. Google may also process connection and device information and use analytics cookies under its Privacy Policy. Google Signals and advertising personalization are disabled in our tag configuration.

Your choice is stored locally for up to 180 days. When analytics is enabled, the footer's Analytics preferences control lets you change it. Rejecting analytics stops our subsequent custom events and disables Analytics measurement for this page; it does not retract data already sent while you had agreed. You can also clear site storage and cookies through your browser. We cannot guarantee a fixed retention period for Google's records; account settings and Google's policies apply.

Connection data and Cloudflare

ShopCutout is hosted on Cloudflare. Delivering a page or a model file involves a network connection, which can expose technical information such as an IP address, request time, requested URL, browser details and security signals to the hosting provider. Local image processing does not mean that visiting the website is anonymous.

Cloudflare may process connection information to deliver, operate and protect its services. Its handling and retention are governed by the applicable service configuration and Cloudflare's Privacy Policy. We do not state a fixed deletion period for hosting-provider records that we cannot independently guarantee. The free application does not create a photograph database or a per-user processing history.

Communication and external links

If you contact the operator, the information you choose to send will be handled to respond to your request. Please do not include confidential product photos, identity documents or other sensitive information unless it is needed and specifically requested. Email and other communication providers have their own processing practices; a support message is separate from the local photo workspace.

Blog posts and legal pages may link to official platform documentation, licenses or photo credits. Following an external link takes you to a different service with its own privacy policy. We do not control that service's data handling.

Your choices and requests

You can stop processing, clear the workspace, close the page, delete downloaded files, and clear the website's browser storage. Because we do not receive selected photographs, we cannot retrieve them, restore a closed workspace or delete copies saved on your device. Requests involving hosting data or a support conversation depend on what information is held, the provider involved and applicable law.

This description does not remove privacy rights that apply where you live. We do not promise that a particular request can be fulfilled without checking which data actually exists and who controls it. The tool is not designed to collect information from children; do not send children's personal information through support messages.

Policy changes

Material changes to photo uploads, third-party inference, tracking or accounts will be reflected here. The date at the top identifies the latest revision of this page. You can also review our Terms of Service for service limits and responsibility for exported images.
